Mobile Legends Lancelot Guide: Build, Combos and Tips
Master Lancelot in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang. Learn his best 2026 build, emblem setup, Puncture combo loops, laning plan, counters, and team fight timing.
Why Lancelot Is Still a Top-Tier Assassin in 2026
Lancelot, the Perfumed Knight, has been a staple high-skill assassin in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang since release, and the current patch does nothing to change that. His blend of near-constant invincibility frames, unlimited dashes, and percentage-based damage makes him one of the few assassins who can both snowball an early lead and stay relevant in long games. If you enjoy fast-paced, aggressive gameplay where outplaying your opponent matters more than raw stat checks, Mobile Legends Lancelot deserves a permanent slot in your hero pool.
Lancelot is a pure Assassin specialized in Charge and Burst. His entire kit revolves around one signature mechanic: Puncture, a dash that marks enemies and resets its own cooldown when it hits a marked target. Played correctly, he can dash through a fight half a dozen times without ever being a valid target. Played poorly, he dashes in, deals no damage, and dies in one second of crowd control.
This guide covers everything you need: skill breakdown, item builds for every situation, emblem and battle spell choices, the full Puncture combo loop, laning and jungle paths, tough matchups, and team fight positioning. By the end you'll understand why he consistently sits in the upper half of our MLBB tier list and how he compares to the best heroes in the game.
Lancelot Skill Breakdown
Lancelot's kit rewards precision. Every skill has a second layer that separates average Lancelots from terrifying ones.
| Skill | Type | Core Effect | Skill Point Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Passive: Soul Cutter | Passive | Full damage to enemies without a Sword Mark; only 20% of physical penetration applies to marked targets | - |
| Skill 1: Puncture | Dash / Mark | Dashes in target direction, deals damage, applies Sword Mark. Re-hitting a marked enemy resets Puncture's cooldown and re-marks them | Max first |
| Skill 2: Thorned Rose | Slash | Slashes forward in a fan, dealing damage. If cast while a Sword Marked enemy is in range, it becomes Phantom Execution, dealing extra damage | Max second |
| Skill 3: Phantom Execution | Ultimate | Empowers the next Thorned Rose into a multi-hit strike during which Lancelot is unselectable | Level up at 4 / 8 / 12 |
Passive: Soul Cutter
Enemies hit by Puncture receive a Sword Mark. Against targets without a mark, Lancelot deals full damage. Against marked targets, his physical penetration is reduced to 20% of its value — this sounds like a nerf, but it's actually the engine of his combo: marked enemies let Puncture reset endlessly. The design intent is simple — you deal big numbers to fresh targets and chain mobility onto marked ones.
Skill 1: Puncture
Puncture is the heart of everything. It stores up to two charges at higher levels, deals solid base damage, and — critically — resets fully when it hits a Sword Marked enemy. The reset also applies the mark again, which means against a single target you can theoretically dash forever as long as you keep hitting them.
Key details most players miss:
- Puncture's dash goes over thin walls, letting you jump camps, gank over terrain, and escape.
- Each cast applies the mark on hit, so missing wastes the entire reset economy.
- The cooldown reset happens on contact, not on kill — you don't need the takedown, just the hit.
Skill 2: Thorned Rose
A forward fan-shaped slash with modest damage on its own. Its real value is the enhanced form: if a Sword Marked enemy is within range, Thorned Rose transforms into Phantom Execution, striking multiple times with much higher total damage. This is where a big chunk of Lancelot's burst lives, and it's why maxing Puncture first is standard — you want marks up constantly so Thorned Rose is always enhanced.
Skill 3: Phantom Execution (Ultimate)
Your ultimate enhances your next Thorned Rose into a multi-hit storm during which Lancelot is unselectable. This is both your biggest damage window and your dodging tool: Phoebe ults, Franco hooks, Aurora freezes — none of them can touch you mid-animation. High-level Lancelots hold the ultimate specifically to answer enemy burst, not just to deal damage.
Best Lancelot Build (2026)
Lancelot wants three things: raw physical attack, cooldown reduction to keep Puncture charges cycling, and enough penetration to hurt tanks after they stack armor. The core six-item build below is the community standard for the current patch.
| Slot | Item | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Swift Boots | Attack speed converts into more basic attacks between skill casts; swap to Warrior Boots vs heavy physical damage |
| 2 | Blade of the Heptaseas | The go-to first core: physical attack, cooldown reduction, and a passive that adds burst on your engage hit |
| 3 | Endless Battle | True damage on every skill-empowered basic attack; synergizes perfectly with the Puncture reset loop |
| 4 | Malefic Roar | Percentage physical penetration — mandatory once enemies buy armor |
| 5 | Blade of Despair | The biggest raw attack stat in the game; turns your Phantom Execution windows into one-shots on squishies |
| 6 | Malefic Gun | Extends your engage range and adds attack speed; the movement spike lets you reach backline carries safely |
Situation Swaps
| Situation | Swap | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Enemy has 2+ lifesteal/spell vamp users | Add Dominance Ice or Sea Halberd (replace Blade of Despair if behind) | Cuts their sustain by 50% |
| You keep dying in fights | Replace Swift Boots with Tough Boots, add Winter Trance / Rose Gold Meteor | Survivability to get your full combo off |
| Enemy is all-magic damage | Tough Boots + Athena Shield somewhere in slots 5–6 | Magic resistance without losing your damage spike timing |
| Ahead early and snowballing | Go Blade of Despair earlier (slot 3–4) | Press the advantage; end before they stack defense |

Best Emblem and Battle Spell
Emblem: Assassin Emblem (Custom)
| Talent | Choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Rupture | Hybrid penetration amplifies early Puncture trades |
| Tier 2 | Weapon Master | Percentage physical attack boosts everything in your build |
| Tier 3 | Quantum Charge | Attack speed and movement speed after basic attacks — perfect for the weave-basic-attack combo style |
Quantum Charge is the standard pick because Lancelot's ideal damage pattern alternates skills and basic attacks. If you find yourself kited constantly, Fever Incant-style alternatives exist, but Quantum Charge remains the highest-skill-expression option. Full talent math for every class is in the emblem guide.
Battle Spell
- Retribution (Jungle) — the default if you're taking the jungle role, which is where Lancelot is strongest. It unlocks the jungle emblem path and faster clear times.
- Execute — a laning option if you're forced to EXP lane; it converts your mid-combo Phantom Execution into a guaranteed kill on bruisers.
- Flicker — only if the enemy has unmissable lockdown (Franco, Selena) and you need an extra escape layered on top of your dashes.
Most Lancelot games are jungle games. His clear speed with two Puncture charges is among the fastest for assassins, and the role gives him the levels he needs to hit his skill 2 max early.
Lancelot Combos: The Puncture Loop
Everything about Lancelot execution comes down to keeping the mark-reset cycle alive. Here are the practical sequences.
The Basic Engage (Puncture → Slash → Reset)
- Puncture onto the target (applies Sword Mark, deals damage).
- Immediately Thorned Rose — because the target is marked, it becomes Phantom Execution for bonus damage.
- Puncture again — the reset triggers on the marked target, reapplying the mark.
- Weave a basic attack between casts (Endless Battle true damage procs here).
- Repeat until the target dies or you need to leave.
The rhythm is: Puncture → Thorned Rose → Puncture → basic attack → repeat. Against a single squishy target, this loop can run four to five times in a row without the Puncture cooldown ever being visible.
The Full Burst Combo
Puncture (engage) → Thorned Rose (enhanced) → Ultimate (Phantom Execution, unselectable) → Puncture (reset as you land) → basic attack → Puncture (final chase or exit).
Hold the ultimate until the enemy counter-burst window. If you pop it too early, a good enemy just walks out; if you pop it as their mage finishes her wind-up, you become untargetable at the exact moment her combo lands.
Escape Combo
Puncture through the enemy (marks them, resets your dash) → Puncture again in the retreat direction over a wall. Using an enemy as a mobility stepping stone is the signature Lancelot outplay — you literally dash off their body.
Laning and Jungle Strategy
Early Game (Levels 1–4)
- Jungle start: Ask for a leash-free route; Lancelot clears fine solo with Puncture's two charges. Kill the blue buff camp first if you plan to gank mid early, red first if you want the slow for your level-4 dive.
- Lane start: Play safe until level 2, then look for a Puncture → enhanced Thorned Rose trade. The mark makes every trade profitable if you land skill 1 first. Never open with Thorned Rose — unenhanced, it loses nearly every trade.
Mid Game (Levels 5–9)
This is Lancelot's kill window. With Blade of the Heptaseas and two points in his ultimate, he deletes half-health squishies. Rotate to whichever lane has the most isolated target — Lancelot punishes overextensions better than almost any hero. Track the enemy jungler: if they show on the map, invade their opposite quadrant or dive their loner.
Late Game
Your damage stays fine but your survivability relative to grouped enemies drops. Two rules:
- Never engage first. Let your tank absorb the opening CC, then enter on the second wave.
- Target selection is everything. The enemy marksman or mage must die within your window; dashing onto a tank with Blade Armor is how Lancelots throw games.
Strong and Weak Matchups
| Strong Against | Why | Weak Against | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Layla | Zero mobility; dies to one full loop | Franco | One hook ends your dash rhythm |
| Kagura | Paper-thin and prediction-based | Saber | His lock pierces your unselectable windows |
| Eudora | Needs her full channel; your ult dodges it | Khufra | Bouncing Ball stops Puncture cold |
| pharsa-style backline mages | You reach them through walls | Freya / tanky fighters | Blade Armor and raw HP outlast your burst |
The pattern: Lancelot eats immobile squishies and struggles against point-and-click CC plus tanky thorn-armor builds. Ban or dodge around Khufra if he's open — his ball hard-counters every dash-based assassin, and Lancelot more than most.
Team Fight Positioning and Win Conditions
- Flank, don't front. Puncture over a side wall after the fight starts. Entering from your team's front just means eating the first rotation of CC.
- Save the ultimate defensively when the enemy has high-priority burst (a complete Aurora or Pharsa channel). The unselectable frames are worth more as a dodge than as damage.
- Reset discipline. If your Puncture loop breaks (you miss a cast), disengage immediately. A Lancelot mid-combo without resets is a Lancelot at 40% of his power.
- Split pressure late. If the enemy groups five-man, threaten side lanes and force rotations; you win every 1v1 against non-tanks, so make them send two, then flank the resulting 4v3.
Master the reset rhythm first, itemization second, positioning last — in that order. Lancelot has one of the highest skill ceilings in the game, and every hour you invest in landing Puncture under pressure pays off across every rank.
